Polluted oceans, polluted air: The climate crisis affects us very personally, because if we do not stop the negative spiral, we will be confronted with ever faster sea levels, floods, extreme heat waves and fire disasters in the future. Art, too, can and must sensitize society to this - and at the same time think about limited resources and recycling in its own area.
Yury Revich's concert "Die schmelzende Welt Vol.2" brings a diverse artistic approach to take on the topic of climate protection and to sensitize the audience to all these topics and to wake people up. Musically, the concert spans a broad spectrum from classical music to operettas to musicals and pop. The artists come from Vienna, London, Hamburg and Amsterdam. But they all have one thing in common - the conviction that it is high time to stop climate change. And they point to this with their means, with the language their voices, with the means of art, especially those of music.
The highlight of the Concert of Arts "Die schmelzende Welt" is "Bach ReCycled". It is a new composition by the violinist and festival director Yury Revich, which consists of music themes that have remained unused by famous composers and which is specially created for this concert. This "discarded" musical material is breathed new life into this recycling process and made accessible to the public for the first time, showing that these melodies, analogous to everyday objects in our lives, have a quality and can be given a new meaning.
Digital works of art by Yury Revich visualize the respective parts and make this Concert of Arts an impressive experience and at the same time artistically underline the main message of the evening: Sustainability and recycling are our chance to help the melting world.
